During the week of August 6th, 2018, La-Z-Boy delivered 14 custom recliners to IMD Guest House, which were placed in rooms dedicated to veterans participating in the Road Home Program at Rush. - Purchase of the chairs was generously funded by the Rush Woman's Board, for the grant year starting July 1, 2018. - The electronically powered chairs recline to a zero-gravity position, which is especially beneficial to veterans like Cheryl, pictured here with her service dog, Ari, who recently underwent spinal surgery.
Each year at Rush University Medical Center, a special tree shines with the spirit of the holiday season. It is the Tribute Tree and its lights are symbols of love and kindness. Gifts made in honor or memory of someone provide a meaningful tribute to a friend, relative or colleague. Your contribution will be acknowledged with a personalized card sent to the honoree or to the family of a remembered loved one. | Visit the Site
This year, the Woman's Board of Rush University Medical Center will raise funds to support the Rush Education and Career Hub, or REACH, an innovative education and workforce development program that provides mentoring and internship programs to high school and college students from Chicago's West Side communities.
The Woman's Board has enjoyed supporting Rush's NICU Department over the years. Woman's Board members Susie Healy, Stephanie Poole Byrd and Stevie Boggess attended this year's annual Preemie Picnic on Sunday, September 23rd. What a crowd – 200 to 300, Rush babies of all ages and their families, the Rush Cafeteria was jumping. There was a huge volunteer force. Clearly, Rush staff delight in catching up with their former patients. The “Minion” is none other than Dr. Jean Silvestri, pictured here with Debbie Gist, (NICU nurse about to retire after 34 years at Rush).
